“Ghost” is an installation series of both wooden artifacts and relief prints in culmination. The process’ relevance of applying body gestural movement with inked components correlates to the tool’s form and function to create a new approach of pattern making. This pattern-making concept stems both in process-based “action painting” with traditional relief printmaking, and with strong presence of both craft and design.
The piece entitled Stööl functions as a common seat while being a “printmaking tool-kit” used to hand press and transfer inked wood-grain patterns onto paper. The Stööl’ legs are systematic yet abstracted, and convey a new context and aesthetic of wood and it’s natural characteristics.
